Alex is our rough and tumble girl! We got rain today (much needed) and Alex decided to take full advantage of the mud! She is the little boy we don't have----yet! :)

If Chris isn't playing his guitar he is on his cell phone. He talks more than a teenage girl! Notice I send him outside to play his guitar. The good Lord didn't give bless him with indoor playing abilities :)

I can't believe I've put up with Chris for 15 years this week :) !!! We went out tonight to celebrate our anniversary. Of course we had to call it an early night since we are old!

September 15??

The latest is that we may hear about a referral sometime after September 15th. Supposedly we've been matched with a child but they cannot release the information because someone is on vacation. When they return we will receive information. Oddly, our agency thinks this referral is from our newest region of Yekaterinburg.

As a side note, we are also starting to look into adoption from BRAZIL! I've just about lost hope in Russia. We'll see just where this adoption journey takes us.

I thought I'd add a picture of the local scenary. I look at this windmill from my kitchen window. I was scared to death when I watched Chris put this windmill up. I thought he was going to kill himself!

Another region?

We still haven't received a referral from the regions we are registered in. But, our papers are being sent to yet another region. I believe this one is Ekaterinburg. We also are preparing 3 more sets of papers to sign "just in case". Maybe by the time we are done we will be registered in every region in Russia!
Here is a picture of Lauren sharpening pencils to get ready for the first day of school.

Neighborhood Hero!

Our neighbor was dumpster diving looking for her car keys that she had accidentally thrown away. Chris was the hero and came to her rescue to help with the search. They were unsuccessful in finding the keys. However, we all had fun laughing at them as they dug through the trash. Nasty! (Chris is going to hate me for showing the world the top of his bald head--heeheehee!)

First Day of School!

Today was the first day of school for the girls. Alex is in Junior High (6th grade-WOW!), Taylor is in the 4th and Lauren is in 1st grade.

Not getting any younger!

Wait, wait, wait! This picture shows we are aging as we wait. We may need wheelchairs before the adoption actually occurs.

Supposedly a facilitator who is over the Tyumen and Nizhny region called to see if we were still available to receive a referral. Nothing concrete but maybe a referral soon? I really don't get too excited about these "maybe" things but at least it is something!

I thought I would add this pretty picture of Taylor. She looks like a beach girl!

New region?

I guess our agency is starting to work in another region. They want us to sign papers to put our dossier there. I think the region is Ekaterinburg. I'm not 100% sure of that though. I think that makes 4 regions now. However, I don't know if our dossier ever made it Kurgan or not.

As a side note....we've been home from Samara for almost 5 months now. How sad is that? Still no travelling in site.

We just returned from a week long vacation to the beach. The girls had a blast. We were true tourists. We swam in the ocean, fished in the ocean, went crabbing in the ocean, built sand castles, collected shells, went to a water park, took a ferry boat ride and shopped for souvenirs. The girls were surprisingly well behaved too! You go girls!

Growing up!

Alex is really getting into cooking and baking lately. I've put off teaching her these skills because when one girl is in the kitchen helping they all want to participate. It really tries my patience! But, this summer Alex has really started trying things out. She has had the beginner's burns and cuts but she keeps coming back for more.

What did I miss?

This picture was taken while I was not home. The girls had told me that Alex had pulled Lauren's tooth. I just wasn't aware that needle nosed pliers were involved. Thankfully all is well.
