I'm asking for input. Alex (11 yrs old) is begging for a cell phone for Christmas. Yes, it is sad to know the Christmas list is already forming. It seems most of her friends have cell phones and she is always on my cell phone. I'm trying to figure out if I think she is old enough to have one. She's going into junior high on August 25th so of course, she thinks she is old enough. I'm just not sure if I think she is.

Well, we finally received a referral for a little boy in the Vladivostok region. It was so exciting to receive some news. We e-mailed all of this little boy's information to an International Adoption doctor. After reviewing his information the doctor determined that he has an "above average risk" for fetal alcohol syndrome. Sadly, we are declining this referral because of this risk. It is very disappointing. He is a very cute blonde-hair, blue-eyed little boy. So, we are back to the wait. Will our match ever be made?

I'm feeling sad today. I'd like to say I'm feeling frustrated but I always use that word in regards to our adoption. Today it is more a sad feeling. Will we ever get another referral? It sure is hard to keep the optimism going. Hopefully, tomorrow will be better.

Same old story....no adoption news. We haven't even received an update of any sort. Will it ever happen? I don't know.
We've been home from Samara 3 months now. Chris made the point today that we've been home from Samara almost as long has we had Konstantin's picture. (Konstantin was our first referral in the Samara region that we lost while in Samara.)
We are making the most of summer though. We went camping this weekend for the July 4rth holiday. I am posting a sweet picture of Chris with Lauren and Taylor that I took this weekend.

I don't have any adoption news. Shocker.
I thought I'd post a picture of Taylor getting her bed ready at gymnastic camp. Alex and Taylor spent the week at gymnastic camp. They had a blast and learned a lot of new skills. They want to go back next year. This was the girls' first time away from home at a camp. They did great and it seems they didn't even lose clothes! Amazing!
